LG has made sure it is up there in terms of design by handing the design reigns of its screens to a design house in Milan. Even its budget TVs are designed there and the 26LC55 is one of these. On this basis, perhaps we shoudn’t expect too much? But it’s smooth and slim and even though it’s budget it is up with the best.
The LG 26LC55 comes with a screen resolution of 1377 x 768 rather than the Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) but then there are no 26in screens with Full HD resolution, so no corners cut so far. But there is a 6-bit, rather than an 8-bit panel. Contrast ratio is also down to only 800:1 from 5000:1.
But being budget, connectivity isn’t bad with its 2 HDMI inputs, 2 SCARTS (1 RGB) along with composite, component and s-video inputs.
It has most of the LG technology including XD engine, which enhances picture processing and therefore quality. It has a noise reduction function and a Digital Comb Filter, which splits TV signals into Brightness and Colour. This in turn delivers better images. LG’s ‘Intelligent Eye’ works the image in line with lighting conditions.
Ultimately, this is perhaps the best budget LCD on the market and any bedroom would welcome it with open arms.
On the basis of karma, you have to get a great “wall bracket LG 26LC55” which will make the most of this little monster. We’d recommend a cantilever “wall bracket LG 26LC55” so that whatever the shape of your bedroom you can get this TV looking its best. Check this one out for size …
