When we have had a tiring day at work, we want nothing more than to sit down at home and relax and unwind. Before the invention of the television and radio, people used to indulge in parlour games and play music. Whist this was good for family spirit, the passing of knowledge and news was restricted to only those that could afford newspapers. With the introduction of the television, people could have a new form of entertainment, where they could catch up on news and enjoy factual and fictional programmes.
We all enjoy watching television, and with the introduction of new flat screen technology, our love affair with the humble television has further intensified.
