A TV bracket is an accessory for your television. It can usually be fitted to a flat-screen LCD or plasma. A TV bracket attaches your TV on the wall. Apart from making your TV look fashionable and stylish, TV brackets allow you to fix the screen at the height you feel is preferable. This also means that you can save valuable floor space.
There are various styles of TV brackets on the market. Almost all brackets allow you to either tilt the screen up or down, some can also rotate from one side to another. If you need to view the screen in a particular position, then the tilting feature can be very beneficial. If you want to view the screen in an adjoining room then the swivelling position can also be useful.
There are TV brackets which hold the screen in a fixed position. They do not allow any alteration to the screen position but they are low in price. With these it can however be a little awkward to adjust or replace cables to DVD players or other external devices.
Always make sure that the TV brackets you purchase are suitable for the screen size. Consider the size and the weight of the TV as well as of the bracket. The brackets should be able to bear the weight of the television and their mounting holes should match.
You need to make sure that your wall is capable to hold the weight of the TV. Always look for a load bearing wall rather than ‘internal partition walls’ as they are a less suitable mounting location.
