Sharp has recently announced their two latest LCD HDTV ranges. Both of them pack LED backlight technology to produce unprecedented image quality and offer eco-friendly and energy efficient performance.
The LE600 series of Sharp Aquos come in 32, 40 and 46 inch models whereas the LE700 series, which is slightly pricier, provides the same and a range topping 52-inch model. All the models of Sharp Aquos feature hundreds of LEDs positioned behind the screen (and not edge mounted as recently seen with Sony Bravia ZX1). The direct behind position of LEDs provides cleaner colours and a brighter picture.
There is no talk about the local dimming LED technology that Philips made for their LED Lux TV which is such a standout product. However, even Sharp’s models should provide a considerable improvement over the regular lamp-lit LCD television sets. LED TVs compared to traditional LCD TVs consume 40 per cent less power.
All models feature full HD 1080p X-Gen LCD panels. The LE700 series also features 100Hz technology to enhance the moving picture quality. All models feature a USB music/photo player and have four HDMI inputs. So, if you already have one or are planning to have one for your home, make sure that you use TV brackets to provide the much needed support to your LCD TV sets.
