According to LG, the TruMotion implementation of 200Hz processing on their SL8000 series LCD TVs provides an improvement over the competitor manufacturers’ systems. Any TV that offers a refresh rate of more than 50Hz for PAL signal or anything above 50fps (frames per second) uses the system to digitally create those extra frames. These new frames are generally inserted between the real ones to create increase in the refresh rate.
While many other manufacturers have their own similar technological implementations, LG claims that they have gone better with the implementation of TruMotion 200Hz system. LG also said that its TruMotion 200Hz uses a different approach that involves frame insertions plus backlight scanning technologies. By simply flashing on and off, the backlight creates actual black frames between inserted and true frames, thus reducing motion blur, improving the contrast levels in darker scenes and increasing the sharpness as well.
There is also an innovative wireless Bluetooth arrangement with which you can use your headphones with the TV or play MP3 tracks from your mobile through the screen. The SL8000 series also features 4 HDMI sockets along with a USB port that can play high-definition DivX videos, MP3, WMV and view JPEG files as well. A Real Cinema offers genuine 1080p/24p Blu-ray playback whereas picture processing comes as courtesy of LG’s well look upon XD Engine system.
