Joy as donor gives new TV to day care centre

Category: News — February 3rd, 2009

A kindhearted businessman, Gary Grant, has donated a TV and DVD player to a day care centre for the elderly, which was burgled last week.

Burglars broke into the Red Cross day care last week, and stole a DVD player, TV and the keys to a minibus. The wall bracket that was fixing the electrical equipment to the wall was also damaged during the burglary.

According to Fiona Goodall, the unit manager of the day care centre in Chiltern Avenue, Mr Grant advised her not to purchase a new television set as he has already arranged for one to be delivered. She also added that many residents had called the centre and offered to help buy new DVD players and TVs.

A generous builder has already replaced the front door of the day care centre free of charge where the burglars had forced their entry.

The staff and residents at the day care centre are thrilled with their new 40-inch flat screen TV set donated by Mr Grant and say that this kind gesture has restored their faith in human nature.

The Amersham police have requested that local residents call the police station if they have any information that can lead to solving the crime.

Flat screen televisions such as the one donated to the day care centre provide the best viewing experience when mounted on the wall with a TV wall bracket. TV wall brackets are available in different sizes for all models of plasma and LCD televisions.
