Fit a television bracket to a stud wall

Fitting your new TV bracket could not be easier; all you need are a few tools and a little knowledge.

When attempting to mount your new TV and TV bracket on the wall, one of the first things you will need to find out is the material your wall is made from. If it is a stud wall, you will need to locate the positions of the studs. Between the studs there is just plasterboard with a space behind and this will not be strong enough to hold your TV or TV bracket. The studs are just pieces of timber that the plasterboard is fitted to. The best way to find these is by using a stud finder. This natty device is really easy to use. When you move it over the wall surface it can detect when the surface is solid so the positions of the studs can be found. As a bonus, some of these devices can also detect electricity cables and pipes under the wall surface so any untoward accidents can be avoided.

When you have located the stud, the job is as simple as using appropriate screws to screw into the stud that can hold your TV bracket and your flat screen television.
