As was stated in part one of this series of posts, buying a TV has never been more complex. The huge variety available means you now have to make more decisions than ever before. Here are a few more things to consider.
The size of your room is of vital importance. There is no point getting a 50 inch TV and sticking it on the wall with TV brackets if you can’t get far enough away to see it properly. Equally, don’t get a tiny TV, thinking it looked a decent size in the shop. Take measurements and buy accordingly.
Most people go for screens between 32 and 42 inches, so this is probably a good place to start. A TV that is 46 inches or larger will need viewers to be around eight feet away and not many rooms are this size. TVs this size also benefit more from HD resolutions, so that too might be a consideration.
And when it comes to HD, plan ahead. It might not seem such a key concern at the moment, but it is seeing more and more widespread use. HD is offered by Blu-rays and certain TV channels but it is also available via various TV streaming services. Even if you watch relatively little HD programming right now, that doesn’t mean you won’t be doing so in the future.
